we went for a very special birthday dinner. we were seated next to a table of 3 people talking at unbelievable loud decibels and cursing every other word..not romantic for us and it felt like we were in a bus station...our waiter was so busy with other tables, we barely ordered our food and never spoke to him again til after our entrees were done...the food was not great, we eat at the best restaurants all over the country and this is HIGHLY overrated...we were just so disappointed with the whole experience...actually, we had a much better time at SCALA later that week...- Is follow up to post by eli ...
I had a pretty bad experience at Postrio. I would not recommend anyone going there. I am sure that I will never go there again.
There was a special Prix Fixe Special. I chose to order something from their regular menu. I had an Ahi Tar tare as an appetizer and Lamb Shank for my main course. The ahi was not too fresh. Any Japanese restaurant with decent sashimi will out-do this dish. They sprinkled some sort of charcoal on the ahi. It made the dish bitter and was not very appealing.
Next I had to wait for almost 30 minutes before my lamb shank came, while, my party had already finished their entrees. The lamb didn't come out to be that special. The meat was bland and the beans as a side were very bland as well.
We asked the manager to come over and he was not very sorry for what happened. The service was poor.
Postrio is over priced and over rated. Please don't go there.
